I am having some issues with my Pi4 and it's UART connection, i set it up just before New Year using a Waveshare RS232 board (WAV-3965) and CoolTerm at my UI. I was able to send and recieve data fine, after this I unplugged everything and started printing a case for my Pi as I plan on using it as a portable network/com port interfacing tool at work (and a retropie gaming setup for when no one is looking). With the case now complete, I started fitting everything together, before I buttoned everything up I thought I had better test everything was still working. I can send data from my Pi to my laptop fine, but I am unable to receive any data back! Which is the main reason for what I am doing. I am wired into the onboard pins 8 & 10 for Rx/Tx, 4 & 6 for 5V and GND. Ensure a USB 2.0 port is used wherever possible, insert a powered USB 2.0 hub between the Arduino and the computer, swap out USB cables for known working ones, disable any additional security such as antivirus etc for testing only, and as Per says check for an errant app that may be causing a conflict. I have tried using a different RS232 > TTL converter (a cheap aliexpress item, which was only every meant to be a spare) and I get the same results.Ī fresh install of the latest PiOS (64bit and 32bit.because) - same no receive, but I can transmit I am using coolterm to send/recieve data, and works fine with a USB to Serial converter but no longer works when I am wired directly. ![]() I am really hoping I haven't damaged the board somehow while I have been making my prototypes of the case. ![]()
